India dominate Pakistan, clinch 9th Asia Cup title

In one of the most iconic India-Pakistan matches of all time, India secured a famous win by 5 wickets over Pakistan to win the Asia Cup title for the record-extending ninth time. In the Asia Cup 2025 final

played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, India chased down the target of 147 runs in 19.4 overs. Left-handed batter Tilak Varma, who came out to bat at No. 4, scored an unbeaten half-century (69 from 53 balls) to seal the deal for the Men in Blue after they lost their top three batters for 20 runs in just four overs.

Tilak, who is the world No. 3 T20I batter, added 57 runs for the fourth wicket with Sanju Samson (24) and 60 runs from 40 balls for the fifth wicket with Shivam Dube, who made 33 runs from 22 balls.

Rinku Singh scored four on the fourth ball of the 20th over bowled by Haris Rauf (0/50 in 3.4 overs) to seal India’s win.

For Pakistan, all-rounder Faheem Ashraf picked up 3 wickets for 29 runs in four overs.

Earlier in the first half of the match, Kuldeep Yadav registered figures of 4 wickets for 30 runs in four overs, and Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy and Axar Patel dismissed two Pakistani batters each to bowl them out for 146/10 in 19.1 overs.

Pakistani openers Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46) added 84 runs in 9.4 overs for the first wicket to help them make a flying start, but after Farhan’s dismissal, Pakistan lost the plot, and their last nine batters could only manage to add 62 runs to the team’s total.
