A Jaipur businessman chased two thieves on foot while still holding a plate of kachoris after they stole a bag containing Rs 20 lakh from his scooter. CCTV captured the unusual moment, showing the man chasing
the suspects but unable to stop them from escaping with the cash.
The incident took place around 4 pm on October 26, in the area covered by Jaipur’s Nahargarh police station. The man, identified as Champalal, was reportedly working as a collection agent and had stopped briefly to eat when the theft took place.
Thieves Grab Cash Bag While Man Eats Kachoris
According to the CCTV footage, Champalal had parked his scooter and placed a bag containing Rs 20 lakh on its footboard. While he was busy eating, two men wearing helmets arrived on a scooter and pulled up beside him. The person sitting behind the driver quickly took the bag before both men rode away.
Champalal noticed the theft and immediately ran after them, still carrying his plate of kachoris. He appeared to focus on catching the thieves rather than returning to his parked scooter to follow them.
Some people nearby also joined the chase, but the suspects managed to get away with the cash. The footage captured the entire sequence, including the moment the men took the bag and Champalal’s attempt to catch them.
Police Examine CCTV Footage To Find Suspects
Following the theft, Champalal filed a complaint at the Nahargarh police station, where a case was registered. Police are checking CCTV footage from the area to identify the two men and find out where they went after the incident.
The suspects remain at large, and the investigation is ongoing. The incident has also led to questions about how the bag containing such a large amount of money was left unattended on the scooter while Champalal stopped for food.

Reddit Users Question Man’s Carelessness
The incident prompted several people to comment on the man’s actions and the way the theft was carried out. Some felt the thieves may have been watching him before making their move, while others said he should have been more careful with the cash.
One user commented, “The thieves had been following from before.” Another wrote, “The person eating that kachori is the one at fault. How can someone, carrying so much money, sit there so nonchalantly, just leaving their bag lying around like that while they eat their kachori?”
A different user said, “One should take care of valuable items,” while another added, “The cost of negligence can sometimes be very high, so stay alert and always look out for your own safety.”
One comment read, “One should be wary of thieves.” Another person questioned the decision to stop for food while carrying so much cash, writing, “Who eats kachoris on the way when they have that much money with them? One should be more careful.”
