Tom Holland is proudly celebrating over three years of sobriety after deciding to quit alcohol. The Spider-Man star recently opened up about how his life has changed since embracing this new chapter. He
described his journey as feeling like adopting a “brand-new identity.”
Alongside focusing on his personal growth, Tom is also working on his non-alcoholic beer business, Bero. He shared how proud he feels about the progress they are making, constantly innovating and coming up with new product ideas.
Tom Feels Like A Brand-New Person After Quitting Alcohol
Tom Holland revealed in an interview, as quoted by People, “It feels amazing. A little bit like a brand-new identity, almost.” He went on to talk about Bero, saying, “I’m really proud of it. Every day we are making big steps in the right direction, and we are growing every day, thinking of new ways to innovate and coming up with new ideas for products.”
The actor has openly shared his past struggles with alcohol. He admitted to overdrinking regularly, especially on Fridays after work. “Every Friday after work was a write-off: Let’s get drunk and have a good time. I didn’t have bad experiences, but I would drink enough so that I would ruin my next day,” he said, as per the outlet.
A Turning Point Came With A Family Intervention
Tom Holland experienced a key moment when he asked his younger brother to drive him home from a party because he wanted to continue drinking. He said, “It’s really helpful when the people closest to you start going, ‘Are you sure?’” This helped him realise the need for change.
He began his sobriety journey in May 2022 while filming The Crowded Room. Unlike many, Tom did not enter rehab. Instead, he leaned on support from family, friends, and old colleagues to help him stay strong and focused.
The actor also shared advice he received from his lawyer: “You will never wake up the morning after a night out and wish you had a drink.” This simple yet powerful advice stayed with him and helped him stay on track.
Tom is Focused On Work and the Future
Tom Holland is currently busy shooting Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth movie in the Spider-Man franchise. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on July 31, 2026.
His career remains strong as he balances professional success with his personal growth.
