Samajwadi Party chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav expressed his grief at the demise of his half-brother Prateek Yadav on Wednesday.
Taking to X, Akhilesh Yadav wrote, “The demise
of Shri Pratik Yadav ji is extremely heartbreaking! May God grant peace to the departed soul. Humble tribute!”

Speaking to ANI, Akhilesh Yadav said, “He was a very nice person and wanted to achieve something with his hard work. The law should take its own course. I met him a few days ago (2 months ago). I told him to take care of his health and his business.”
According to the officials, the 38-year-old Prateek Yadav died at Lucknow’s Civil Hospital. He was the husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav. His body was sent for a post-mortem examination.
According to the reports, Prateek Yadav, son of the late Samajwadi Party founder and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, was brought to Lucknow’s Civil Hospital in an unresponsive condition, and he was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.

The post-mortem procedures will be done by a panel of three to four doctors and will be video recorded, as per the reports.
Speaking on Prateek Yadav’s death, Chief Medical Superintendent, Civil Hospital, Dr Devesh Chandra Pandey said, “He was brought dead at 5.55 am. The police were informed, after which the body was sent for a postmortem procedure.”
To mark the demise of Prateek Yadav, the State BJP cancelled all programmes in Uttar Pradesh.
Prateek Yadav used to stay away from active politics and never contested elections, unlike other members of the Yadav family.
He was known as a fitness enthusiast and a real estate developer and had businesses related to property and fitness ventures in and around Lucknow.
He was an MBA graduate from Leeds University in the United Kingdom. He was also associated with animal welfare initiatives.
