In the IPL 2025 mega auction, which was held across two days in Saudi Arabia, LSG signed Pant for Rs 27 crore. The 28-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Delhi, who was previously associated with Delhi Capitals in the IPL, is the most expensive player in IPL history.
However in the 20 IPL matches played so far for LSG, Pant has failed to impress with his batting performances. He has only scored 416 runs for the Lucknow-based franchise.
PBKS, on the other hand, signed former Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Shreyas Iyer for Rs 26.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Since joining PBKS, Iyer has transformed the Punjab-based franchise.
In his first season, he scored more than 600 runs for the Punjab Kings and also helped them qualify for the playoffs (later final) by topping the points table.
In the ongoing 2026 season of the IPL, PBKS are at the top of the points table once again. They have amassed a total of 11 points from six matches played so far. Like the 2025 edition, Iyer has impressed with his batting in this year’s IPL as well and already has slammed three half-centuries in five innings.
