“I’ve never read a script in my entire life. I’ve written them, but I’ve never read them,” Salman said in the video released by Variety India.
The actor has previously hinted that he prefers understanding the mood, treatment and overall commercial potential of a project rather than reading scripts page by page.
The conversation also touched upon another topic that regularly trends online — Salman’s collection of luxury watches. The actor is frequently spotted wearing expensive timepieces during events and public appearances, with several reports claiming some of them are worth over ₹1 crore.
Addressing the buzz around the watches, Salman clarified in Hindi, “You see me wearing watches that don’t mean the watches are mine. It is this friend and that friend’s watch…”

On the work front, Salman is gearing up for his upcoming film Maatrubhumi, which has reportedly undergone major changes in recent months. The project was earlier being referred to as Battle of Galwan and was believed to be inspired by the clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley. However, the makers have now changed the title and reportedly removed references to both China and the Galwan Valley, while also carrying out extensive reshoots.
Backed by Salman Khan Films and produced by Salma Khan, the movie is directed by Apoorva Lakhia. Salman will reportedly play an Indian Army Colonel in the film, which also stars Chitrangda Singh. The release date is yet to be announced.
The actor also has another big project lined up for Eid 2027. Salman is set to star opposite Nayanthara in a film currently being referred to as SVC63. The untitled movie will be directed by Vamshi Paidipally.
Most recently, Salman appeared in a cameo as Jiva Mahala in Raja Shivaji. His fierce warrior look in the film became a major talking point online. The project also featured Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh.
