BJP leader Pradeep Bhandari on Tuesday took a swipe at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over his reported upcoming visit to the United States, accusing him of spending more time abroad than in India.
In a post
on X, Bhandari claimed that Gandhi was planning to travel to the US between November 16 and 19. He alleged that the Congress leader was preparing for another vacation and would meet his “Anarchic partners” during the visit.
“Rahul Gandhi just cannot stay in the country!” Bhandari wrote.
Questioning Gandhi’s overseas visits, the BJP leader asked how the Congress expected to secure votes from people when its senior leader allegedly spent more time outside the country.
“When he spends more time abroad, and less in the country, how does Congress expect votes from people of India!” he said.
Bhandari also linked his criticism to Gandhi’s repeated allegations of ‘vote chori’ against the BJP and the government, taking a swipe at the Congress leader with the phrase: “There is no ‘Vote Chori’, there is only ‘Rahul Gandhi Ki KamChori’.”
The remarks come amid repeated criticism by BJP leaders of Gandhi’s foreign visits. They have questioned the timing of his trips and accused him of being away from the country instead of focusing on domestic political issues.
