Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar is receiving all the love from audiences and critics alike, and as the movie continues to earn praise, Kangana Ranaut has taken to her Instagram to write a long note praising the Dhurandhar of
the show, Aditya Dhar himself.
Taking to her Instagram, Kangana Ranaut shared, “I watched #Dhurandhar and had a great time. Totally inspired by the art and craft of this masterpiece, but honestly, huge admiration for the intent of the filmmaker. Dear Aditya Dhar ji, border pe hamare defence forces, sarkar mein hamare Modi ji aur Bollywood cinema mein aap, khoob kambal kutayi karo in Pakistani terrorists ki, maza aa gaya, whistled and clapped all the way!!”
“Superb work by everyone, lekin Dhurandhar of this show is the filmmaker himself @adityadharfilms. Congratulations @yamigautam (sic),” the actress further added.
While reacting to the long note, Aditya reshared the story and wrote, “Thank you so much, Kangana ji!” While Kangana lauded the filmmaker in a long post, she didn’t write anything particularly for the cast of the film.
About Dhurandhar
Directed, written, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. Madhavan plays Ajay Sanyal, the Director of the Intelligence Bureau, while Akshaye portrays Rehman Dakait, the Baloch gang leader.
In the first instalment of a two-part film series, it follows a decade-long Indian intelligence operation where an undercover agent infiltrates Karachi’s criminal and political underworld. Strong word-of-mouth and the cast’s performances have helped Dhurandhar collect over Rs 483 crore in just 15 days at the Indian box office. Although the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has labelled the film as fiction, it takes inspiration from actual events, including geopolitical conflicts, the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and R&AW’s covert operations during Operation Lyari.
About Dhurandhar 2
If the first film’s length raised eyebrows, the sequel appears unlikely to be any shorter. Actor Danish Pandor, who plays Uzair Baloch, revealed that filming wrapped up in October after beginning in July 2024. In effect, Aditya Dhar has shot close to seven hours of footage across both parts within a span of roughly 16 months. Dhurandhar 2 is set to hit theatres on March 19, 2026, where it will face a box office clash with Yash’s Toxic.
