What was meant to be a routine food order turned into an emotional experience for a woman after she discovered that her delivery partner had met with an accident. Ayushi Doshi shared her story online,
explaining how a brief delay reminded her of the human effort and challenges behind every delivery.
Ayushi Doshi said she had ordered McDonald’s from Zomato and grew impatient as her food took longer than usual to arrive. Hungry and frustrated, she kept calling the delivery agent, identified as Rohit Kumar, but he did not answer. When she reached out to customer support, she received a shocking message.
Zomato Says Delivery Partner Met With An Accident
In the screenshot Ayushi shared, Zomato informed her that the delivery agent had met with an accident and that her parcel was stolen afterwards. The message read, “Our delivery partner, Rohit Kumar, unfortunately met with an accident, and the order he was carrying was stolen. Due to this unforeseen incident, your order will be cancelled, and a full refund will be processed for Rs 463.”
Ayushi said the message left her speechless. “I don’t know why, but that hit me really hard. Here I was, angry over a late burger, while someone out there was actually hurt. We often forget, behind every delivery notification, there’s a human just trying to earn a living,” she wrote.
I ordered McDonald’s on @zomato today. Was starving , kept calling the delivery guy, Rohit Kumar, again and again because it was taking too long. He didn’t pick up even once.

Online Users Share Mixed Reactions
While many people appreciated Ayushi’s reflection, others were doubtful about Zomato’s explanation. Some claimed they had received similar messages in the past.
A user wrote, “Sorry, but this accident story is too common on Zomato.”
Another said, “Accidents can happen, but someone stealing food seems suspicious.”
Some users, however, praised Ayushi’s empathy. “We often forget someone out there is braving traffic, rain, and exhaustion just to deliver our food,” one person commented.
Ayushi Clears The Air After Speaking With Zomato
After reading through the comments, Ayushi later clarified that Zomato had reached out to her directly.
Guys, I’ve seen all the comments and stories going around, but Zomato personally reached out to me multiple times after my post.
