The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has postponed the MP State Eligibility Test (MP SET) 2025 due to unavoidable reasons. The examination, scheduled for January 11, 2026, has been cancelled
and a new date will be announced separately.
In an official notice, the commission said the decision was taken due to unavoidable circumstances. It clarified that all other terms and conditions mentioned in the original notification will remain unchanged. This means there will be no change in eligibility criteria, age limit, vacancy details or the total number of posts.
Candidates who qualify the MP SET will be eligible to apply for assistant professor positions in universities and colleges across Madhya Pradesh.
As per the exam pattern, the MP SET 2025 will be conducted in offline mode and will consist of two papers. Paper 1 will be compulsory for all candidates and will test teaching and research aptitude. It will include 50 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 100 marks. Paper 2 will be based on the subject chosen by the candidate and will have 100 questions for 200 marks. The total duration of the examination will be three hours.

To qualify, candidates from the General category must score at least 40 percent marks, while candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) categories need a minimum of 35 percent.
The online application process for MP SET 2025 had closed on November 20, 2025. Candidates were also given an opportunity to edit their application forms between October 30 and November 22, 2025.
MPPSC has advised all registered candidates to regularly check the official website for updates regarding the revised examination date. The commission has also cautioned candidates against relying on unofficial sources for information related to the exam.
