Mrunal Thakur has opened up about the choices she has been making in her career, revealing that she is consciously turning down big film offers to maintain the standard she has set with her recent performances.
The actress, who won widespread praise for her roles in Sita Ramam and Hi Nanna, said that the success of these films has raised expectations- not just from audiences, but from herself as well. While speaking during Dacoit trailer launch, she said that while it’s often tempting to accept big projects, she believes that choosing the right script matters more.
Mrunal Thakur On Rejecting Big Films
At the event, Mrunal Thakur spoke about her film choices and said, “Trust me, it’s such a tempt when the other filmmakers reach out to me. The package is fantastic, but with a big, heavy heart I have to say no.” She further explained that the characters of Sita Mahalakshmi and Yashna have become benchmarks in her career, and she feels responsible for living up to them. Which I why, she has been politely declining offers that do not seem meaningful.
“Because I feel the benchmark that Sita Mahalakshmi [Sita Ramam] and Yashna [Hi Nanna] have set, I have to live up to that. Laalach buri bala hai. So sometimes, no matter how big the opportunity is, I have to respectfully say ‘Sir, I will wait for the right film’. And that’s what I have been doing,” she said.

As he confronts his past, the protagonist finds himself torn between avenging the betrayal and protecting the very woman who wronged him, along with her husband.
