Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor have been busy promoting their upcoming film, Buchi Babu Sana’s sports action drama ‘Peddi’. At the Peddi press meet held in Bangalore yesterday, Janhvi Kapoor expressed her
delight over working with Ram Charan. She also made a humorous remark about weight loss, joking that working on a song sequence with Ram Charan is the fastest way to shed kilos, as the intense dance routine leaves one exhausted.
Janhvi Kapoor On Dancing With Ram Charan In Peddi
At Peddi press meet, Janhvi Kapoor said, “I’ll tell you the best weight loss tip I can give you all. Try to do a song with Ram Charan sir. You will become skinny in half a day.” She further added that even dancers who shot a song sequence with Ram Charan for just a few days appeared to have lost weight.
“All of the dancers also. We shoot for 3-4 days. By the 4th day they are all looking smaller,” said Janhvi.
Meanwhile, at the same event, when asked about the role of sports in her life, Janhvi Kapoor said she only picked up some cricket basics while preparing for her film ‘Mr. & Mrs. Mahi’ with Rajkummar Rao. She added that beyond that, her involvement in sports is limited to cheering from the sidelines.
“I learnt a little bit of cricket for my film Mr and Mrs Mahi. So that’s about it. That’s the extent of sports. I sit on the sidelines and cheer for Peddi. That’s how sporting I am,” she said.
Ram Charan Is All Praise For Janhvi Kapoor
Meanwhile, earlier at the trailer launch of Peddi, Ram Charan lauded Janhvi Kapoor’s dedication and hard work on set. “I have never seen such a diligent person in my life. The way she is working so hard. The last day we shot a song. I didn’t have time because we were shooting 85 days continuously and then the song landed up. I was learning there and I was doing it. And I didn’t know whether she had practiced it too. She did it a 100 times better than me in the last song we shot. She is like a ‘chhupa rustam’. She was quietly learning it in Mumbai. I like that dedication. She is very sincere to her work. And Peddi needed a lot of sincerity from all of us,” he said.
About Peddi
Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is a sports action drama set in 1980s Andhra Pradesh. The film follows a villager who rallies his community through sports to stand up against a powerful rival. Apart from Ram Charan, the film also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Shivarajkumar in key roles.
The film is slated for a theatrical release on June 4.
