Two-time champions Mumbai Indians on Friday unveiled their jersey for the fourth edition of the Women’s Premier League, which is all set to begin on January 9, with a mega clash between MI and the Royal
Challengers Bengaluru at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
“Just as the team reflects the city, the jersey mirrors the rhythm of everyday Mumbai, always in motion, always playing on. This season, the iconic blue and gold, with the coral, represent movement, resilience and momentum,” a statement said.
The jersey’s core theme, ‘Wicket Pulse’, features blue on the front and back, inspired by Mumbai’s constant motion, from local trains to sea waves.
The jersey embodies the relentless, never-slowing mindset that defines both the city and the Mumbai Indians, the statement says.
“The Gold adds confidence and continuity, elements that power the spirit of Mumbai, while the subtle coral accents bring warmth and balance that the people of Mumbai have for one another and make the #OneFamily unique,” the statement adds.
“More than just a kit, the Mumbai Indians WPL 2026 jersey tells a story of a city and its people, of players who embody its pulse and of the unwavering support of the MI Paltan, whose energy fuels the team on and off the field,” the statement said.
Mumbai Indians, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, won the inaugural edition of the WPL in 2023, finished in the top three in 2024 and again won the title in 2025.
Besides Harmanpreet, Mumbai retained Nat Sciver-Brunt, Hayley Matthews, Amanjot Kaur and G Kamalini ahead of the WPL 2026 mega auction.
At the auction, the Mumbai Indians bought back Amelia Kerr for Rs 3 crore, Shabnim Ismail for Rs 60 lakhs and Sanskriti Gupta for Rs 20 lakhs, among others.
Earlier this week, the Mumbai Indians named former Australia leg-spinner Kristen Beams as its spin-bowling coach for the upcoming season.
