Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday highlighted the key achievements of his government over the past 12 years, ranging from welfare schemes and infrastructure development to tax relief, women’s empowerment
and national security initiatives.
In a post on X, PM Modi said the government would continue working with a focus on “service, good governance and prosperity” to achieve the goal of making India a developed nation.

Welfare Measures For The Poor
The Prime Minister said more than 81 crore people are receiving free food grains under government welfare schemes. He also highlighted the construction of over 4 crore houses under the PM Awas Yojana, the distribution of more than 10.5 crore LPG connections under the Ujjwala scheme and the construction of over 12 crore toilets across the country.
Women Empowerment
Over 32 crore Jan Dhan bank accounts have been opened for women and that permanent commission has been granted to women officers in the armed forces. Three crore women have reportedly achieved annual incomes of at least ₹1 lakh under “Lakhpati Didi” programme.
According to the Prime Minister, over 10 crore rural women are now connected through more than 91 lakh self-help groups.
Infrastructure Push
PM Modi showcased major infrastructure projects undertaken during his tenure, including the Atal Setu, Sudarshan Setu, Chenab Rail Bridge, Bogibeel Bridge and the Pamban Sea Bridge.
India’s metro rail network has expanded to over 1,100 kilometres across 26 cities, while 164 Vande Bharat trains are currently operational. The number of airports in the country has also increased from 74 to 164.
Focus On Youth
Nearly two crore people have received skill training under various government programmes.
The PM also highlighted the Mudra Yojana, under which loans worth over ₹40 lakh crore have been sanctioned, along with the growth of India’s startup ecosystem, which now comprises more than 2.2 lakh recognised startups. More than 10,000 Atal Tinkering Labs have also been established to promote innovation among students.
Healthcare Expansion
On healthcare, PM Modi said the Ayushman Bharat scheme has benefited over 60 crore people and now provides free treatment of up to ₹5 lakh for senior citizens aged 70 years and above.
He also noted that affordable medicines are being made available at discounts of up to 90 per cent through more than 19,000 Jan Aushadhi centres across the country.
National Security And Defence
Highlighting security achievements, PM Modi said India’s defence exports have risen to ₹38,400 crore and credited his government with intensifying the fight against terrorism and Left-Wing Extremism.
He also cited steps taken to shed colonial-era symbols, including the renaming of Rajpath as Kartavya Path and the adoption of a new naval ensign inspired by the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Farmers’ Welfare
Over ₹4.3 lakh crore has been transferred directly to farmers under the PM-Kisan scheme. Crop insurance claims worth more than ₹2 lakh crore have been paid to over four crore farmers, while crops worth ₹26 lakh crore have been procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP). Around eight crore farmers have also been covered under the Kisan Credit Card scheme.
Relief For The Middle Class
PM Modi highlighted recent income tax reforms, under which individuals earning up to ₹12.75 lakh annually are effectively exempt from income tax under the new tax regime.
He also pointed to the success of the UDAN regional connectivity scheme, under which affordable air travel has been availed by over 1.6 crore passengers. The number of MBBS seats in the country has increased by 151 per cent to around 1.3 lakh, he added.
Heritage And Development
The Prime Minister also underlined efforts to preserve India’s cultural and spiritual heritage, citing the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the redevelopment of major pilgrimage centres such as Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Mahakal Lok and Kedarnath Dham.
PM Modi said these achievements reflected the government’s commitment to balancing development with cultural preservation as India moves towards its goal of becoming a developed nation.
