A group of men was caught on camera performing dangerous stunts and racing at high speeds on Delhi roads, with the video widely circulating on social media and triggering safety concerns.
The footage, reportedly
recorded on the night of December 26, shows several men travelling in four cars while carrying out reckless manoeuvres. In the video, some individuals can be seen standing out of sunroofs, shouting and gesturing as the vehicles sped along busy roads.
The cars were also seen swerving and zig-zagging through traffic while allegedly travelling from ITO towards Noida, posing a serious risk to other commuters.
The incident comes amid a spate of similar stunt-related cases across north India. Earlier this month, a video surfaced showing five boys performing a hazardous stunt on a single motorcycle on National Highway 9 in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh. In that case, one boy dangled from the bike while another filmed the act. Police later registered a traffic violation case and imposed a fine of ₹31,000.
In another incident in June, a man riding a Royal Enfield Bullet was seen performing reckless stunts in front of a Delhi Transport Corporation bus in East Delhi’s Yamuna Vihar area. The biker blocked the bus’s path, zig-zagged dangerously without wearing a helmet, and even attempted to hold the bus’s side-view mirror while riding alongside.
Delhi Police later traced the rider using the viral video and other inputs. The motorcycle, which was over 15 years old, was still registered in the name of its first owner and failed to meet anti-pollution norms. Authorities subsequently scrapped the vehicle.
Police have repeatedly urged motorists to follow traffic rules and refrain from stunts that endanger lives, warning that strict action will be taken against violators.
