Star India batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi on Friday smacked a stunning hundred in the final of the U19 World Cup against England, helping India post a competitive score in tryst of their sixth title in the global
competition.
Sooryavanshi emphatically rose to the occasion, racing to a fifty off just 32 deliveries before maintaining the onslaught against the English attack. He then accelerated further, bringing up his second fifty in a mere 23 balls.
Sooryvanshi put on 142 runs in just 19 overs with his captain, Ayush Mhatre, who departed for a 51-ball 53 after bringing up his fifty. Watch Sooryavanshi’s century celebration here:

Fresh from a defining, quickfire fifty in the record run-chase against Afghanistan in the semifinal, Sooryavanshi was met with a stern early examination as Sebastian Morgan probed him with the new ball.
After the early dismissal of opener Aaron George in the fourth over, Sooryavanshi put on a huge partnership with Mhatre.
Sooryavanshi shifted through the gears towards the back end of the powerplay, hammering four fours in the ninth over. He reached his fifty off just 32 deliveries and then launched into a relentless four-hitting spree.
The next 23 balls Sooryavanshi faced saw eight fours, as he brought up the three-figure milestone.
Sooryavanshi endured a tense wait in the nervous nineties, left stranded at the non-striker’s end and then held up by Mhatre’s dismissal. Keeping his composure intact, he nudged two singles to bring up a memorable hundred.
Sooryavanshi let out a roar before removing his helmet, folding his hands and bowing towards the dressing room.
Sooryavanshi was finally dismissed for 175, which he scored off just 80 balls, off Manny Lumsden.
