Mangoes are flooding the market as the king of fruits returns in the summer season. These decadently juicy stone fruits are beloved by almost all Indians, and we have begun using them in a multitude of ways.
From curries to desserts, beverages to aachars, mangoes are a prominent feature in almost all recipes during the summer season.
And even the Instagram paglu and Pinterest girlies are now using this bright yellow fruit as a mainstay in their aesthetic foods. This is how the mango milk toast came to be.
A vegetarian play on the classic French toast, this is an easier version, as it doesn’t need you to have eggs in the batter. Top it off with a mango rose or a roasted mango, and you will have a beautiful plate on hand that is also delicious enough for you to dig in. Mango Milk Toast Recipe
Ingredients:
For sauce:
- 1 mango half (chop the rest for garnish)
- 1 tbs condensed milk
- 3/4 cup milk
For Milk toast-
- 3 slices of bread
- 2 tsp butter
- 1/2 cup milk + 2 tbs
- Chopped pistachios for garnish
Method:
- Start by making the toast, and for that, first melt some butter in a pan. Toast all three slices of bread on both the sides untill it gets a nice golden brown colour. Ensure that you are keeping a strict eye on it, and it doesn’t get burnt.
- Add the milk to the bread, slowly drizzling it in bit by bit till the bread absorbs it all up and becomes super soft.
- Turn off the gas and place the bread on a cute plate.
- To make the creamy mango sauce, start by blending together half of the mango with condensed milk and some more milk.
- Pour this creamy mango sauce on top of the milk bread toast.
- Serve it with some more chopped mangoes and a garnish of pistachios for the aesthetics and crunch.
