Karan Johar’s Mom Said He Could Not Be A Hero Because He Was ‘Fat’
Karan Johar’s father, Yash Johar, the founder of Dharma Productions, wanted his son to pursue a career as a hero in Bollywood. “My dad was in delusion land about me. He thought that I had puppy fat, it’ll go away, he’s so handsome,” Karan recalled.
“He wanted me to become a hero, and my mother used to roll her eyes, saying, ‘No way he’s capable or should be a hero,’ Karan added. He said that his mother, Hiroo Johar, would strongly disagree with his father. As Karan recalled, Hiroo would tell Yash: “What are you saying, Yash? He’s so fat, so large.”
“She always used to call me out. Punjabi moms aren’t always deluded,” Karan added.
Karan Johar Fell Sick While On The Atkins Diet
The Kuch Kuch Hota Hai director attended H.R. College of Commerce in Mumbai. At the time, Johar felt “everyone was way thinner” than him and decided to lose weight.
“I was doing the Atkins diet. Once I did it for a month, and I fell sick,” he said. Johar said he “fainted” during an Accounts class. “That was the end of the diet,” he added. Once Johar’s mom found out about the diet, she opposed it.
“My mother banned it, and she had no idea I was doing it,” he recalled. The Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham director said the diet involved a nine-egg cheese omelette and fried chicken.
Karan Johar Says He Did Not Take Ozempic
Karan Johar said that “contrary to what people think”, he did not take Ozempic to lose weight. After his kinesiology test, he realised he was “gluten and lactose intolerant”. “I actually didn’t realise… I was eating roti and not rice. But in reality, rice and potatoes are my friends,” he said. Karan claimed he lost weight after he decreased his gluten intake.
