If you haven’t watched Ibrahim Ali Khan’s recently released movie, Sarzameen, yet, you can now watch it for free. In celebration of India’s 79th Independence Day, JioHotstar has announced that it will
be extending full-day free access to its entire content library on August 15, emphasising its commitment to creating an inclusive and accessible brand across all parts of India.
This means that films like Sazameen, which released earlier this month, will be available for free for one day. Sarzameen, also starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Kajol, follows the story of an Indian Army officer—played by Prithviraj Sukumaran — whose worst fears come true when he learns that his estranged son, portrayed by Ibrahim Ali Khan, has joined a militant group. The film attempts to explore generational trauma, ideological conflicts, and fractured familial bonds against the backdrop of a volatile region.
The film marks Kayoze Irani’s directorial debut. Produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, and Apoorva Mehta under Dharma Productions, in collaboration with Star Studios, the film was released on JioHotstar on July 25, 2025.
Besides Sarzameen, Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2, Prabhas’ Salaar, Ajay Devgn’s Raid, Vijay Deverakonda’s The Family Star and Kushi Kapoor’s Loveyapa will be available for free on JioHotstar this I-Day.
Web shows like Inspector Avinash, Special Ops 2, Salakaar, Criminal Justice, and Pati Patni Aur Panga will also be available for free.
Speaking about the campaign, Minakshi Achan, Head – Brand & Creative, JioStar, said, “JioHotstar has always believed in unlocking infinite possibilities through storytelling by giving viewers the freedom to choose what they watch, when they watch, and how they engage with it. Operation Tiranga is an extension of that philosophy. It is a campaign that celebrates the spirit of Independence Day and removes all barriers to access, allowing every viewer to discover stories that reflect the courage, resilience, and identity of the nation.”
