To commemorate the milestone, lead actress Mrunal Thakur took to social media to share a heartfelt note. The actress, who made her Telugu film debut with Sita Ramam, expressed her feelings about her character as Sita Ramam clocks 3 years.

Sharing the film’s poster on her Instagram story, Mrunal poured her heart out and wrote, “It’s been 3 years, and Sita still lives on in your hearts, your words, your memories. She was never just a character. She was a promise. A feeling. A forever.”
She also extended her gratitude to her co-star Dulquer Salmaan, director Hanu Raghavapudi, and the entire team behind the film, writing, “@dqsalmaan, @hanurpudi, and every soul behind this film, thank you for building this world with so much truth. And to you, the audience, thank you for keeping her alive. Love, Sita,” she added.

Sita Raman’s Storyline
Released in 2022, Sita Ramam is a period romantic drama set against the backdrop of the 1964 war. Mrunal plays Sita Mahalakshmi, a mysterious woman who sends anonymous love letters to Lieutenant Ram (Dulquer Salmaan), a soldier posted at the Kashmir border. The story unfolds with Ram’s quest to find his elusive beloved, navigating through letters, memories, and war-torn landscapes.
The film was praised by fans and critics alike, and Mrunal’s portrayal of Sita won her the Best Debutante Award, cementing her presence in South Indian cinema.
What’s Next for Mrunal Thakur?
The actress has a power-packed lineup of upcoming films. She last starred in Ajay Devgn’s comedy franchise Son Of Sardaar 2.
Now, Mrunal is all set to grace the screens with legendary director David Dhawan’s film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The upcoming rom-com, shot in Scotland, features a star-studded ensemble of talented actors, including Varun Dhawan, Maniesh Paul, Mouni Roy, Chunky Pandey, Pooja Hegde, Jimmy Shergill, Rajeev Khandelwal, Kubbra Sait and Rohit Saraf. Produced under the banners of Tips Films Pvt. Ltd., the film is slated to hit the theatres in October 2025.
The actress also has a gritty action-romance, Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha, directed by debutant Shaneil Deo. Co-starring Adivi Sesh and Anurag Kashyap, the film will see Mrunal playing the female lead in the film. Set for a grand theatrical release on December 25, the film will be released in Hindi and Telugu simultaneously.
