Naomika Saran, granddaughter of the late superstar Rajesh Khanna and niece of actor Akshay Kumar, made a rare public appearance in Mumbai on Thursday, August 7. However, the outing turned uncomfortable
when she was surrounded and chased by paparazzi. Netizens were furious at paps for continuing to click her despite realising that she was uncomfortable with cameras around her.
In a video now going viral, the 20-year-old was seen exiting a store when she spotted the photographers. She initially tried to change her route but, realising there was no way out, walked briskly through the crowd of shutterbugs. Several paps ran alongside her, and at one point, a few cameras came uncomfortably close. Naomika managed to dodge them, politely saying “Thank you” before quickly getting into her car. Netizens criticised the paparazzi for their behaviour, expressing sympathy for Naomika. They posted comments such as “Who allow them to record with mobile like this”, “How cheap are these paps, tameez naam ki cheez hi nahi haain in me”, “Are bhai kyu dukhi krre ho bechari ko wo kitni awkward hori h”, “Made her so uncomfortable… No sense of respect!”, “Feel really bad for her! This ridiculous papz culture could cause these people to trip or fall or slip..anything!”, “This is harassment”. Others pointed out how beautiful Naomika is.
Naomika’s video comes comes just a day after a similar incident in which Hrithik Roshan’s 17-year-old son, Hridaan, was chased by paps in Mumbai, forcing him to run to his car looking visibly scared and irritated. The clip, too, went viral, sparking outrage about paparazzi videos.
Who is Naomika Saran?
Naomika Saran is the daughter of Rinke Khanna and Sameer Saran. Rinke, the younger daughter of Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, is Twinkle Khanna’s sister. This makes Naomika Akshay Kumar’s niece through his marriage to Twinkle.
Reportedly, she is set to make her Bollywood debut in a romantic comedy opposite Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda, produced by Dinesh Vijan. More details about the film are awaited.
