POLLING DATE AND TIMINGS
Voting for the Tamil Nadu Assembly election will take place on Thursday, April 23, 2026, in a single phase across the state.
The exercise will cover all 234 Assembly constituencies.
Polling is typically conducted between 7 am and 6 pm, as per standard ECI guidelines followed in Assembly elections, unless notified otherwise for specific constituencies.

The counting of votes will take place on May 4, 2026, after which the results will determine the next state government.
WHO CAN VOTE
According to election authorities, over 5.6 crore registered voters are eligible to participate in the Tamil Nadu Assembly election.

Eligible voters must carry either their Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) or one of the alternative identity documents approved by the ECI to cast their vote at designated polling stations.
HOME VOTING AND POSTAL BALLOT FACILITY
