Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon have been busy filming the much-awaited sequel to Cocktail, and every update has fans buzzing with excitement. The movie went on floors earlier this year,
with the team shooting across several picturesque European locations.
According to a report by Pinkvilla, the Cocktail 2 team recently wrapped up their European schedule, which included shoots in Sicily, Italy. With that segment complete, the cast and crew are set to return to India to begin their next schedule in Delhi, expected to last for about a month.
Cocktail 2 Plot Under Wraps
The spiritual sequel is being produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and written by Luv Ranjan. While plot details remain under wraps, the makers are reportedly eyeing a theatrical release in the second half of 2026. The film is directed by Homi Adajania, who also helmed the original Cocktail (2012), starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty in lead roles.
The previous film focused on a modern love triangle starring Gautam Kapoor (Saif Ali Khan), Veronica Melaney (Deepika Padukone), and Meera Sahni (Diana Penty). It explored the interlocking themes of romance and friendship.
Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon And Rashmika Mandanna’s Latest Projects
Shahid Kapoor was last seen in the action thriller Deva, directed by Rosshan Andrews. Pooja Hegde played the female protagonist. Moving on, apart from Cocktail 2, the actor will star in Vishal Bhardwaj’s action film O’ Romeo. Triptii Dimri, Tamannaah Bhatia, Nana Patekar, Randeep Hooda, Vikrant Massey, and other actors play major roles in the film. Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon will co-star with Dhanush in Tere Ishk Mein, which will be released on November 28, 2025. Rashmika Mandanna, on the other hand, is set to play the protagonist in the Telugu film The Girlfriend, which will be released on November 7, 2025. She is currently enjoying the success of her most recent release, Thamma.
