Bollywood music has a way of showing up where you least expect it, sometimes even in the middle of a dinner thousands of kilometres away from India. A recent clip shared online proves just how far Hindi
film songs travel and how deeply they resonate beyond borders.
The video was shared on Instagram by a Pakistani medical student currently studying in China. Initially, it shows an ordinary moment at a dinner table, but everything changes and turns into a scene straight out of a Bollywood set.
Chinese Man Breaks Into Energetic Dance On Aankhein Khuli
The clip shows a group of Chinese men casually eating and chatting. That is when a familiar tune starts playing in the background: Aankhein Khuli from Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai’s 2000 film Mohabbatein. Within seconds, the song becomes the turning point and shifts the vibe from relaxed to celebratory. The iconic track, which also featured Uday Chopra, Jugal Hansraj, Jimmy Shergill, Shamita Shetty, Kim Sharma and Preeti Jhangiani, still holds strong nostalgic power even decades later.
As the remixed version of Aankhein Khuli plays, one man dressed in all black and sitting in the middle immediately reacts by standing up. He begins to sing along and breaks into a high-energy dance. Talking about his expressions, they are perfectly in sync with the song and his confidence speaks volumes. His friends cheer him on, clap loudly and laugh as he dances freely.
