The India vs Pakistan match at the T20 World Cup in Colombo on Sunday, February 15, might as well see some rain interruptions as showers picked up in the city earlier in the day. All eyes in Colombo are
on the skies, hoping the thunderclouds and rain stay away from the city and the R Premadasa Stadium, which is all set to host today’s India-Pakistan T20 World Cup clash.
Dark clouds loomed over Colombo on Saturday afternoon as the Ireland vs Oman match wrapped up, fueling concerns about potential weather disruptions for Sunday’s marquee India-Pakistan clash.
According to Accuweather, there is currently a shower in Colombo. The afternoon is expected to be cloudy with a few showers as well, with a 85% chance of rain. The evening is predicted to be cloudy with a 13% chance of rain and one would expect the downpour to stay away during the big game.
Morning and afternoon showers are expected to keep the R Premadasa track covered and maintained, just as it was overnight in preparation for the high-profile game.
The Premadasa Stadium boasts excellent drainage, honed in a nation accustomed to regular rainfall. With careful maintenance and this efficient drainage system, very few overs, if any, might be lost.
