Prabhas and Akshay Kumar’s highly anticipated Telugu devotional drama Kannappa has finally arrived on OTT after its theatrical release earlier this year. Starring Vishnu Manchu in the lead role, the epic
drama garnered a lukewarm performance at the box office. Now, it is noteworthy to look at how the movie will perform on the digital platform.
On September 4, Prime Video announced the movie, Kannappa’s entry to the OTT. On its official Instagram handle, the streaming partner of the epic devotional film, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, announced the development. They shared a fiery poster of the devotional drama featuring Mohanlal, Prabhas, Vishnu Manchu, Akshay Kumar and others in their respective on-screen characters.
Kannappa Arrives On OTT
Alongside this, the streaming partner wrote in the caption, “Glory Guts Grandeur all in one epic #KannappaOnPrime, Watch Now.” Going by the poster shared by Prime Video, the movie is currently available in only four languages – Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu. Well, it is not clear if the makers will soon launch the Hindi version of the epic drama or the subtitles.

Kannappa’s Plot
Vishnu Manchu’s movie narrates the extraordinary journey of Thinnadu, an atheist, whose transformation into the legendary Kannappa is both emotional and thought-provoking. The story written by Manchu himself is based on the legend of Kannappa, the greatest devotee of Lord Shiva, who sacrificed his eyes in devotion to the deity.
The movie features Preity Mukundan as Nemali, Thinnadu’s love interest, while Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal as Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, respectively. Prabhas, Mohan Babu, Mohanlal, and Sarathkumar also star in key roles.
