Would you order pizza to an airport gate just to avoid overpriced meals? One US family did exactly that, and the Internet cannot stop talking about it. The viral video was posted on Instagram by a family who
was travelling together, including two sets of twins.
After their flight was delayed, the family decided they did not want to pay typical airport food prices. Instead, they came up with what they called an “airport food hack.” Text displayed on the video reads, “Our flight was delayed, and we didn’t want to pay airport food prices, so we ordered Dominos for delivery to the airport.” The caption added, “Airport food hack, let’s goooo!”
The footage shows the family waiting inside the terminal as they receive their Domino’s order. The moment surprised many viewers, as takeaway delivery directly to an airport gate is not something people see every day. Instead of buying food inside the terminal, where prices are often significantly higher, the family chose external delivery to save some bucks during the delay.
Domino’s Joins Chat
The post quickly gained attention, crossing millions of views. Hundreds of users flooded the comments section, turning the video into a debate about airport etiquette and practicality. The official Domino’s Pizza account even joined the conversation, posting, “Just plane delicious.”
While many praised the idea as smart planning, others raised concerns about bringing pizza onto a flight. “I would cry if someone ordered a pizza and I had to sit next to them on a plane and smell it the whole time,” one user commented.
Another user defended the move, writing, “How are people complaining about the smell of pizza??! Bring curry on ok yeah, I understand, but pizza? That smells so good.”
Flight Attendant Weighs In
A flight attendant offered a practical perspective, “I’m a flight attendant. It’s a good idea… to eat in the airport… However, it’s gonna smell up the plane, and a lot of those boxes are hard to dispose of on the plane because they take up a lot of space. Ever notice how small our trash bags are? Our galley trashes aren’t that big.”
Someone else questioned logistics, asking, “How did you get back through security after already being at the gate before ordering?”
And that’s how a simple money-saving choice sparked a wider conversation about airport pricing, food smells on flights and travel etiquette.
