Bengaluru, Apr 14 (PTI) On World Quantum Day, SISA, a global cybersecurity company focused on the payments sector, on Tuesday announced the launch of its Certified Quantum Security Professional programme.
The company claims it is the world’s first ANAB-accredited certification in quantum security.
ANAB is the accreditation body of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
The programme aims to prepare professionals and organisations for the next major shift in cybersecurity driven by advances in quantum computing, the company said in a statement.
SISA said the launch comes at a time when quantum computers capable of breaking current encryption systems are getting closer to reality. It also noted that countries are already setting timelines to adopt post-quantum cryptography (PQC), with most targeting readiness by 2035.
At the launch, JBV Reddy, Head of the Quantum Technology Cell at the Ministry of Science and Technology (India), said the initiative is an important step in building certified expertise in quantum security and strengthening India’s cybersecurity ecosystem.
SISA said quantum computing could have a major impact on global payment systems, which rely on encryption to protect transactions and data.
It warned that quantum computers could eventually break current encryption methods, creating serious security risks.
The company added that moving to quantum-safe encryption will be more complex than past upgrades and will take years, especially since many organisations do not have full visibility of their cryptographic systems.
SISA CEO Dharshan Shanthamurthy said the shift to quantum-safe cryptography is not just a technical upgrade but a major change in how digital security is built.
He said the CQSP programme will help organisations develop skills to plan and implement quantum-safe security systems.
The course covers the basics of cryptography, quantum computing, quantum key distribution (QKD), post-quantum cryptography (PQC), and global standards from NIST and ISO.
SISA said the programme also aligns with India’s National Quantum Mission and supports efforts to advance quantum research and adoption. PTI AMP SSK
