Namibia will face Pakistan in their fourth and final Group A match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 on Wednesday (February 18). The match between Namibia and Pakistan at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo
on Wednesday from 03:00 PM IST onwards is a must-win one for the 2009 T20 World Cup winners. If Gerhard Erasmus-led side manages to defeat Pakistan in Colombo on Wednesday, then Pakistan will get knocked out of the T20 World Cup 2026 from the group stage itself.
After losing their third Group A match against India by 61 runs on Sunday (February 15) in Colombo, Pakistan dropped to third position in the points table, and they can’t afford to lose against Namibia now. Because if Pakistan suffer a defeat against Namibia by any margin, then they will finish below the United States of America in the points table and won’t be able to qualify for the Super 8s.
However, if the match between Pakistan and Namibia in Colombo gets washed out due to rain, then both teams will settle with one point each, and in that case, Pakistan will finish 2nd in the Group A points table and qualify for the Super 8s.
Group A points table ahead of Pakistan-Namibia T20 World Cup 2026 match
| POSITION | TEAM | MATCHES | WINS | DEFEATS | NO RESULT | POINTS | NRR |
| 1. | India (Q) | 3 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 6 | +3.050 |
| 2. | USA | 4 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 4 | +0.787 |
| 3. | Pakistan | 3 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 4 | -0.403 |
| 4. | Netherlands | 3 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 2 | -1.352 |
| 5. | Namibia (E) | 3 | 0 | 3 | 0 | 0 | -2.443 |
Pakistan’s defeat against Namibia on Wednesday evening, however, won’t guarantee the USA a place in the Super 8s of the T20 World Cup 2026. They still have to wait for the result of the India-Netherlands match in Ahmedabad.
If the Netherlands manage to stun India by securing a big win at the Narendra Modi Stadium, then the Scott Edwards-led side will also finish the group stage with 4 points, and in that case the team with the better net run rate (NRR) between the USA and the Netherlands will qualify for the Super 8s.
India have already qualified for the Super 8s from Group A.
If Pakistan qualify for the Super 8s of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, then they will face New Zealand, England and Sri Lanka.
