The footage shows four masked men arriving at the building in a white Maruti Suzuki Swift before entering the home. Once inside, the assailants allegedly held Deka’s wife and the family’s driver at gunpoint and threatened them. One of the attackers was seen wielding a dagger, using it to intimidate and assault the victims in the living area.
According to the visuals, two of the intruders focused on restraining the woman, while the remaining two pinned the driver to a sofa to prevent resistance. Deka himself was not present at the time of the incident.

After ransacking the house, the robbers escaped with cash, gold jewellery and other valuables. Police have launched an investigation and are analysing the CCTV footage to identify and trace the suspects.
A similar incident was reported last August in Jorabat where a group of armed men targeted the office and home of a prominent businessman, escaping with cash and gold valued at several lakhs of rupees. The daring robbery was reported at 13 Mile in Jorabat, according to a report in Hubnews.
Around ten masked individuals first entered the office of brick trader Deepak Hazarika. The attackers allegedly threatened the office manager and a security guard at gunpoint, assaulted them, and restrained them by tying their hands and covering their mouths. The gang then broke open the office cash locker and took the money kept inside.
After looting the office, the robbers moved to Hazarika’s residence situated behind the workplace. There, they reportedly overpowered family members, searched the house and made off with gold jewellery and other valuables.
Police teams from Jorabat reached the location soon after the incident was reported, with additional support from Sonapur Police Station. Subsequently, a case was registered at Sonapur, and an investigation was launched to identify and arrest those involved in the robbery.
