Ace England pacer Jofra Archer has said that the most difficult batter he has bowled to was KL Rahul in the initial years of his participation in the Indian Premier League, adding that the latter was at his peak
back then and could hit the ball anywhere.
Despite having bowled to some of the biggest names in world cricket, including multiple modern greats, Archer singled out Rahul as the most difficult batter he has faced in the tournament.
Over the years, Archer has cemented his reputation as one of the IPL’s premier pacers, testing himself against some of the world’s finest batters. Yet it was Rahul, during the peak of his IPL career, who left the most lasting impression on the England quick.

Speaking on The Super Over Show with Carlos Brathwaite, Archer was asked to name the most difficult batter he has faced in his career. The England pacer wasted little time before picking Rahul, lauding the Indian star’s ability to score all around the ground.
“Probably KL Rahul in the first few years of the IPL. He was in his prime then and it felt like he could hit any ball anywhere. He was really hard to bowl to,” Archer said.
Archer’s remarks highlight the immense respect Rahul commands among the world’s top bowlers. Renowned for his elegant strokeplay, impeccable timing and ability to adapt across formats and match situations, Rahul has established himself as one of the most versatile batters in franchise cricket.
