Akshaye Khanna has been winning hearts with his performance in Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar. Fans are just going gaga over his viral entry to an Arabic song. Today, Ram Gopal Varma has also showered high praise
on actor Akshaye Khanna for his striking look.
Taking to his X handle, Ram Gopal Varma praised Akshaye Khanna’s look and wrote, “In every shot of @AdityaDharFilms‘s #Dhurandhar , #AkshayeKhanna looks like he’s stepping out of life , unlike most actors who look like they stepped out of a make up van.’ Fans also agreed. One of the fans wrote, ‘Most of the actors today are not well travelled in different corners of Bharat meeting common man, although they travel all over the world.. so, their ecosystem is mostly the elite superficial bollywood parties.. so, there’s no relativity factor of the desi characters..” Another wrote, “The other actors are doing Method Acting. Akshaye is just existing on camera and somehow making everyone else look like they’re trying too hard.”

Aditya Dhar Credits Ram Gopal Varma For Film’s Success
After the release of the movie, Ram Gopal Varma showered Dhar with praise, and later, Aditya credited the veteran actor for inspiring him. As RGV felt obliged by the filmmaker’s kind words, Dhar had something to say to the Satya director. As RGV wrote, “It sounds nice that I INSPIRED all these great directors to become GREAT, but when will I, the INSPIRER, become GREAT?” Dhar reacted to the post and shared, “Ramu sir, you took the risks when it was the hardest!!”
The Dhurandhar director further continued, “At a time when there were no templates, no safety nets, and no guarantee that things would work. Dhurandhar could run because you walked first, sir. Some paths don’t end with applause. They end in creating a legacy!”
Earlier, Aditya Dhar had credited Ram Gopal Varma for being the reason behind his success and said, “I came to Mumbai years ago carrying one suitcase, one dream, and an unreasonable belief that I would one day work under Ram Gopal Verma. That never happened. But somewhere along the way, without knowing it, I worked inside your cinema. Your films didn’t teach me how to make movies — they taught me how to think dangerously.”
“You were one of my favourite directors who made Indian cinema feel fearless, impolite, and alive. If Dhurandhar has even a fraction of that DNA, it’s because your films whispered (sometimes screamed) in my head while I was writing and directing it,” Dhar shared.
Dhurandhar: Cast and Plot
Written and directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar takes inspiration from real-life incidents rooted in geopolitical conflict and covert R&AW operations, particularly those linked to Operation Lyari, a Pakistan-led crackdown on criminal syndicates in Karachi’s Lyari region.
Alongside Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, the film stars Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun in significant roles.
The first of a two-part series has been receiving immense praise from both audiences and critics for the power-packed performances, as well as the direction, cinematography, atmosphere, and music. A follow-up film, Dhurandhar Part 2, is scheduled to release on 19 March 2026.
