and the commission has published a detailed calendar for TGT-PGT recruitments and other exams on the official website upessc.up.gov.in.
According to the schedule, the Assistant Professor (Advertisement No. 51) recruitment exam is set for April 18 and 19, 2026. The PGT recruitment (Advertisement No. 02/2022) exam will be held on May 9 and 10, 2026.
The commission has proposed the UP TGT recruitment exam dates for June 3 and 4 while the admit cards will be issued on May 23. Additionally, the UP Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET) 2026 is scheduled for July 2, 3, and 4, 2026.
The UP Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) exam, initially set for December 18-19, 2025, was postponed while PGT exam was slated to take place in November.
The postponement has affected a large number of aspirants, with more than 15 lakh candidates having applied for the UP TET exam. The examination, conducted after a gap of four years, had raised high expectations among teaching aspirants. Candidates will now have to wait longer for the revised exam schedule.
Dr Prashant Kumar, former Director General of Police (DGP) of Uttar Pradesh, was recently appointed as the chairman of the Education Service Selection Commission. Following his appointment, there were signs that conducting exams on previously announced dates might not be feasible. The commission has reiterated its commitment to transparent and fair examination processes.
The UPESSC has announced that the notification for UPTET 2026 will be released soon. A separate notification will provide details about the schedule and application process.
The Commission stated that the results of the Assistant Professor Recruitment Examination held on April 16-17, 2025, were released on September 4. However, the examination was cancelled following a decision at the competent level. The exam will be conducted again with strict security standards, transparency, and integrity. Candidates will be informed about exam centres, shifts, and admit card issuance in due course.
