Iran on Monday said the first round of negotiations with the US States in Switzerland, held after the signing of a preliminary memorandum of understanding last week, focused on key provisions of the deal,
including the Lebanon ceasefire, Iranian oil exports, and the release of frozen assets.
According to Iran’s Foreign Ministry statement posted on X, the Iranian delegation returned to Tehran after marathon talks held at the Burgenstock resort near Lake Lucerne. The discussions ran from Sunday morning into the early hours of Monday and were conducted alongside mediators from Qatar and Pakistan.
The ministry said the talks centred on the implementation of specific paragraphs of the signed MoU aimed at ending the war. Iran said the focus was not on launching final negotiations, but on ensuring that agreed provisions begin to take effect.
