The foreign ministers of 12 Arab and Islamic states called on Iran to “immediately halt its attacks” and respect international law, according to a joint statement released Thursday after their meeting
in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
In the statement, the ministers denounced Iran’s attacks across the Gulf nations, including Jordan, Azerbaijan and Turkey, which they said had targeted “residential areas, civilian infrastructure, including oil facilities, desalination plants, airports, residential buildings and diplomatic premises.”
The ministers also condemned the Israeli attacks on Lebanon, reaffirming “support for the security, stability and territorial integrity of Lebanon.”
Iran Targets LNG Facilities In Qatar
The joint statement followed Iranian strikes targeting energy infrastructure across the Gulf, with Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial City coming under attack.
In a statement posted on ‘X’, QatarEnergy said multiple LNG facilities were subjected to missile attacks, causing “sizeable fires and extensive further damage.”
“In addition to the previous attack on Ras Laffan Industrial City on Wednesday 18 March 2026 that resulted in extensive damage to the Pearl GTL (Gas-to-Liquids) facility, QatarEnergy confirms that in the early hours of Thursday 19 March 2026, several of its Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facilities were the subject of missile attacks, causing sizeable fires and extensive further damage”, it said.
There were no reports of casualties and emergency response teams were deployed at the site to contain the damage.
The attack came a day after the Israeli forces struck South Pars, the world’s largest gas field, South Pars, with facilities near Asaluyeh reported ablaze.
Since the conflict began on February 28, Iran has targeted energy facilities across the Gulf and disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz — a vital maritime chokepoint for about one-fifth of the world’s oil trade.
The war has so far killed at least 1,300 people in Iran, over 960 in Lebanon and 14 in Israel, according to officials. According to the US military, 13 American service members have been killed and around 200 have been injured.
