Amid his fight with Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar is reportedly teaming up with Salman Khan. However, it is not for Don 3. If a report by Pinkvilla is to be believed, Salman is in talks with Farhan for a “large-scale
period drama”. Reportedly, the two have been discussing this film for over a month and plan to make it a “theatrical action spectacle”. However, no details regarding the film’s plot of storyline have been revealed as of now.
“Salman Khan and Farhan Akhtar have been meeting regularly over the last month and discussing a potential collaboration. Salman has loved what he has heard so far and has shown keen interest in the project. The talks are still at an early stage and have not yet reached the paperwork phase, but both sides are excited about the possibility of coming together for the first time,” a source cited by the entertainment portal claimed.
“It is a massive period action drama mounted on a grand scale. The idea is to tell the story across 2 films,” the insider added.
Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 On Hold
This comes at a time when Farhan Akhtar has been facing uncertainty over Don 3. The fallout between him and Ranveer Singh over the film has become one of Bollywood’s biggest controversies. According to multiple online reports, Singh exited the film due to creative differences with the makers. Several reports also suggested that Ranveer was unhappy with repeated delays in production and the absence of a locked final script.
What initially appeared to be a routine casting change has now escalated into a legal matter, with Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment demanding Rs 45 crore in compensation and the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issuing a non-cooperation directive against the actor, which has now been revoked.
No further update on Don 3 has been shared as of now.
