US President Donald Trump on Thursday said Israel would not carry out any further strikes on Iran’s South Pars gas field, while issuing a sharp warning to Iran against targeting Qatar’s energy infrastructure
amid escalating hostilities in the region.
Trump said Israel’s earlier strike on the South Pars gas field was carried out “out of anger” and stressed that neither the United States nor Qatar had any role in the operation.
He said only a limited portion of the massive gas facility was hit and claimed Washington had no prior knowledge of the attack.
“The United States knew nothing about this particular attack, and the country of Qatar was in no way, shape, or form involved with it,” Trump said, adding that Iran acted without full knowledge of the circumstances when it later targeted Qatari energy facilities.
Trump warned that while Israel would refrain from further strikes on the South Pars field, any renewed Iranian attack on Qatar’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure would prompt a severe response.
He said the US would not hesitate to destroy the entire South Pars facility if Qatar’s LNG assets were hit again, describing such action as a last resort given the long-term consequences for Iran.
Meanwhile, a person familiar with the matter told the Associated Press that the US had been informed in advance about Israel’s plans to strike the South Pars gas field but did not participate in the operation.

The remarks came as Qatar said Iranian missile strikes caused extensive damage to multiple LNG facilities. QatarEnergy said the attacks triggered large fires at affected sites, with emergency teams working to contain the blazes. No casualties were reported.
Qatar, one of the world’s largest exporters of liquefied natural gas, plays a critical role in global energy markets.
Production had already been halted earlier in the conflict, and officials warned that the damage could delay the resumption of supplies even after hostilities end.
The attacks on Qatar followed Israel’s strike on the offshore South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf, which Iran shares with Qatar.
Tehran condemned the strike, with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warning of “uncontrollable consequences” that could spill beyond the region.
