Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the Union Cabinet will discuss tougher measures against paper leaks, calling the issue “not an ordinary issue” and promising further action in the coming days.
In a late-night post on X, PM Modi shared a video message titled, ‘More strict actions against paper leaks to come in tomorrow’s Cabinet!’ The message came amid the ongoing protests over the NEET paper leak in Jantar Mantar.
He also said the government plans to introduce a Bill in Parliament next week to strengthen action against paper leaks.

“The paper leak is not an ordinary issue. It is a painful issue for lakhs of students and their parents,” the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister added that several accused had already been arrested over the past two-and-a-half months and were now in jail. He said the government’s priority was to ensure that students did not lose a year because of the controversy and that the re-examination was conducted at the earliest.
Video Message Comes Ahead Of Meeting
PM Modi’s video message came shortly after reports that a delegation of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) will meet government ministers on Friday. According to sources, the meeting is scheduled after 12 pm, although the venue has not been disclosed.
The meeting follows intense backroom negotiations aimed at ending the deadlock over the NEET paper leak issue, the sources said.
The CJP has been staging a sit-in at Jantar Mantar since last month, demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and a complete overhaul of the education system.
