The first glimpse of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has been released, introducing Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama. The teaser was unveiled at a special event where director Nitesh Tiwari addressed the audience and
revealed how it took him seven years to make the film. He said that filmmaking is a lonely process, but fan reactions to the Ramayana teaser made the seven years worth the wait.
Nitesh Tiwari got emotional and said, “Iss moment tak pahuchne me mujhe saat saal lage hain (It has taken me seven years to reach this moment). Filmmaking is a very speculative and lonely process. Every moment in these seven years, I have imagined this moment and wondered what the reaction (of the audience) would be.”
He added, “Aaj aap logon ka reaction dekh kar mujhe lag raha hai (Judging by your reactions, I feel) those seven years were worth it. A lot of people have worked very hard to help the film reach here. I hope we get an equal amount of love from all of you. Thank you.”
The teaser offers audiences their first look at Ranbir Kapoor portraying Lord Rama, a figure deeply revered across generations. Backed by Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Monster Mind Creations, the film brings together large-scale filmmaking with a story that holds deep cultural and spiritual importance.
Director Nitesh Tiwari previously spoke about the emotional depth of the story, saying, “Ramayana’s greatness lies in its emotional richness. At its heart, it is not just about good and evil, but about choices, consequences, and the weight of doing what is right. Rama’s journey is deeply human, and that is what we have tried to stay true to.”
