The buzz around Dhurandhar isn’t slowing down anytime soon. More than a week after its release, the spy action thriller is still pulling in large crowds, prompting theatres in Mumbai and Pune to add midnight
and early-morning shows to meet audience demand.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the development on X, pointing to the film’s round-the-clock screenings. “#Dhurandhar goes round the clock… Midnight shows – commencing from 12.45 am onwards – have begun in #Mumbai,” he wrote, while noting that theatres in Pune have scheduled shows starting from 12.20 am.
In some centres, exhibitors have gone even further, introducing early morning screenings from as early as 7.20 am.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar has continued its strong run at the box office. As per Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 53 crore over the weekend and stood at Rs 292.75 crore by Day 9. It opened to a robust Rs 28 crore on its first day and is now inching closer to the Rs 300 crore mark.
Released in theatres on December 5, 2025, Dhurandhar is a Hindi-language spy action thriller written, directed and co-produced by Aditya Dhar. The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar under the banners of Jio Studios and B62 Studios. Its ensemble cast includes Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi, supported by several other actors.
While the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has classified the film as a work of fiction, Dhurandhar draws inspiration from real-life geopolitical events. These include the 1999 Indian plane hijacking, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, and covert intelligence operations linked to Operation Lyari.
The film has received mixed-to-positive reviews, with critics praising its performances, especially those of Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, along with its action sequences, production values and scale. Its runtime and pacing, however, have drawn some criticism. At 214 minutes, it is among the longest Indian films released theatrically.
Dhurandhar is currently the third highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025 and the fifth highest-grossing Indian film of the year. The film is the first part of a planned two-part series, with Dhurandhar: Part 2 – Revenge scheduled for release on March 19, 2026.
