Ward No. 20D is one of the four sub-wards of Ward No. 20 of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC). The NMMC has a total of 41 wards spread across Navi Mumbai, representing 165 corporators. This sub-ward is reserved for General. Ward No. 20, to which this sub-ward belongs, has a total population of 44645, of which 9604 belong to the Scheduled Castes and 763 belong to the Scheduled Tribes.
The extent of Ward 1 of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation as published in the Maharashtra Government Gazette is as follows: Location- Turbhe Stores (Part), Hanuman Nagar (Turbhe), Ambedkar Nagar, Ganesh Nagar, Indira Nagar, MIDC Area (Part), Bonasri, Bonasri Village, Chunabhatti, Shivaji Nagar, Mahatma Gandhi Nagar, Mauli Stone Quarry. North – From Thane–Belapur Road, proceed eastward along the northern side of Turbhe Railway Station up to Samata Vidyalaya Road near Garib Nawaz Masjid. Then, proceed northward along the road west of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Statue up to Mahavir Clinic. Continue northward via the internal footpath along the southern side of CTC Paper & Packing, in a straight line eastward between Plot Nos. C/222 and C/93 along the 20-meter-wide road up to MIDC Central Road. Then, proceed southward up to Plot No. C/63, and from there eastward past Plot No. C/444 and around Plot No. C/450/2. Continue eastward past MS Infra Transmission and southward across Roman Trarmet Company up to the eastern boundary of NMMC. East – Eastern boundary of NMMC. South – From the Parsik Hill pass on the Sion–Panvel Highway, proceed along the hill near CBD Sector-9, then along the northern edge of Sector-9N and the hill-adjacent boundary of Sector-8A. Continue past the Detention Pond up to the eastern boundary of NMMC. West – Thane–Belapur Road and .
The last Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) elections were held on April 22, 2015, in which Nationalist Congress Party was the single largest party with 52 seats, while Shiv Sena won 38 seats. Bharatiya Janata Party secured six seats and Indian National Congress won 10 seats. Five Independent candidates were also elected as corporators in the election. The next election is scheduled to take place on 15 January 2026, with the counting of votes on 16 January 2026.
