The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has issued a sharp warning to US and Israeli forces amid concerns over a possible ground operation inside Iran.
“Don’t send your children to hell with the deceit of
Netanyahu and Trump. The invading soldiers will be deeply drowned and disappear in the million-strong sea of the Iranian nation,” the statement said.
The IRGC directly addressed people in the United States, accusing leaders of misleading them. It said Americans were being influenced by “warmongers” such as Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu.
“The truth of the war you must observe at American gas stations, on the streets of Iran, and in the skies of Tel Aviv and Haifa,” the statement added.
US troop deployment plans
According to a CBS report, the Pentagon is expected to deploy troops from the 82nd Airborne Division to the Middle East. The report, citing a source familiar with the planning, said elements including a command component and ground forces could be sent.
A possible ground operation in Kharg Island is also under consideration by the United States.
IRGC claims missile strikes
The IRGC said precision-guided Emad, Qiam, Khorramshahr-4 and Qadr missiles struck more than 70 locations across Israel during the 81st wave of Operation True Promise 4. It claimed targets were hit in Haifa, Dimona, Al-Khudriyya near Haifa, and areas north and south of Tel Aviv.
The group warned, “Remember, we will level Tel Aviv and Haifa to the ground, this is what our martyred Leader taught us.”
War numbers
The IRGC said more than 700 missiles and 3,600 drones have been fired at American and Israeli targets since the conflict began. It also claimed Iran’s air defence systems intercepted and destroyed over 200 enemy aircraft, including cruise missiles and advanced fighter jets.
Iran rules out talks
Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian Araghchi said the country would continue its policy of “resistance” in response to what he described as “unprovoked American-Israeli aggression”.
Speaking in a televised interview, he said no negotiations or ceasefire would take place without reliable guarantees. “At present, our policy is to continue resistance, and no negotiations have taken place,” he said, adding, “There are no negotiations underway.”
Araghchi said regional diplomatic contacts had taken place but Iran’s position remained unchanged.
“Many foreign ministers from the region have contacted Tehran, but Iran’s position has remained ‘principled and firm’,” he said. He also questioned the reliability of “international guarantees” aimed at ending the conflict.
The war is currently on its 27th day.
