Good news awaits regular users of national highways and expressways, as the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is set to roll out an annual toll pass from August 15. The initiative, overseen by the National
Highways Authority of India (NHAI), aims to make travel more affordable for daily and long-distance commuters.
Rs 3,000 For 200 Toll-Free Trips
Priced at Rs 3,000, the pass will cover 200 toll-free trips a year, each trip equating to one toll booth crossing. With many commuters typically spending over Rs 10,000 annually on tolls, this pass could result in savings of up to Rs 7,000, bringing average cost per trip to just Rs 15.
How To Buy Annual Toll Pass?
The most common query from drivers has been how and where to get the pass. According to NHAI, it will be available only via the official ‘RajmargYatra’ mobile app and website.
It will not be sold at toll plazas, through offline stores, third-party websites, or banks.
Quick Activation And Fastag Integration
The pass will be activated within two hours of application. There’s no need for a separate card or tag, as the toll pass will be linked directly to your existing Fastag. NHAI advises users to avoid unofficial sources to prevent fraud.
For further assistance, users can contact the NHAI helpline at 1033. NHAI is actively providing updates and guidance via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
