Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda are set to share screen space in the upcoming film Ranabaali, marking their first on-screen collaboration after marriage. Naturally, fans have been eagerly waiting
for every update about the much-anticipated project. Now, much to their fans’ delight, Rashmika has shared a glimpse of Vijay from Ranabaali sets. She wrote that she was unsure whether she was allowed to share the glimpse, but couldn’t contain her enthusiasm after seeing that the team was creating something ‘extremely scary’.

Rashmika Mandanna took to her Instagram Stories to post a partial glimpse of Vijay’s character, building anticipation for the much-awaited action drama. The image, although a little blurry, show Vijay sporting an intense expression. Apart from the photo, it was Rashmika’s caption that garnered attention. She wrote that Vijay and director Rahul Sankrityan are doing something extremely scary and that she cannot wait to watch the film on the big screen.
“I don’t know if I can show you guys this yet… I hope they don’t ask me to take it down… like a lot of times before… But these boys are doing something extremely scary and I just couldn’t control… I CANT WAIT to watch it on the big screennn! @Ranabaali,” she wrote, while tagging Vijay Deverakonda and director Rahul Sankrityan.

The post quickly grabbed the attention of fans, many of whom were thrilled to get a glimpse of Vijay’s much-talked-about character. Vijay, too, couldn’t resist responding. Re-sharing Rashmika’s Instagram Story on his own account, the actor affectionately called her a “Cutie” before playfully disagreeing with her description. “Not scary- divine :)),” he wrote, suggesting that audiences can expect something much more than just an intense cinematic experience.
About Ranabaali
Set against the backdrop of 19th-century India, Ranabaali is inspired by events believed to have taken place between 1854 and 1878 during British rule. The film explores a brutal chapter of colonial history marked by violence, economic exploitation and widespread loss of life. Vijay plays the fearless freedom fighter Ranabaali, while Rashmika stars as Jayamma. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo will be seen as the main antagonist, Sir Theodore Hector.
The film is scheduled to release in theatres on September 11, 2026.
