What happens when your new family starts suspecting that you might be a witch? That’s the unusual situation Yami Gautam finds herself in in Nayyi Navelli. The film arrived in theatres on October 16, and
if you’re wondering when you can watch it at home, here’s what we know so far.
Can’t make it to the cinemas? Don’t worry, there’s an update for those waiting to watch Nayyi Navelli online. The film’s posters have revealed Amazon Prime Video as its OTT partner. However, the makers are yet to announce the film’s official streaming date.
In India, films usually arrive on OTT platforms around four to eight weeks after their theatrical release. Hindi films generally follow an eight-week window because of agreements between producers and major multiplex chains, although some movies may make the jump to streaming sooner.
Going by these timelines, Nayyi Navelli could premiere online sometime between November 13 and December 11, 2026. This is only an estimate, though, and the actual release date will depend on the film’s distribution agreement and an official announcement from the makers.
In the film, Yami Gautam plays Mohini, a successful corporate executive who marries Raja Awasthi, played by Addinath M. Kothare. She moves to Meerut to start a new chapter with her husband and his rather unconventional family. But things get awkward when Raja’s brother, Bantu (Anurag Thakur), begins to suspect that Mohini is a daayan, or witch.
And Bantu isn’t exactly keeping his suspicions to himself! He comes up with a series of bizarre arguments to convince the rest of the family that Mohini has a supernatural side. Soon, the household is filled with suspicion, strange accusations and plenty of chaos. As the story moves forward, Mohini’s true identity becomes an even bigger part of the mystery.
News18 Showsha gave the film 1 star out of 5 and wrote in its review, “We watched it so you could save yourself the trouble. Nayyi Navelli fails to leave a lasting impression, offering neither the scares of a horror film nor the laughs of a comedy. The movie can cost you a ticket, popcorn and headache medicine.”
