China’s leading automotive manufacturer, Geely, has announced that its flagship model, the Galaxy M9 PHEV, has received over 40,000 pre-sale orders within just 24 hours of bookings opening on August 24.
This full-sized plug-in hybrid SUV is offered in six variants, with prices ranging from 193,800 yuan (approximately Rs 22.08 lakh) to 258,800 yuan (approximately Rs 29.50 lakh).
As the largest model in the Galaxy line-up, it’s clearly aimed at families seeking a six-seat configuration and long-range hybrid performance.
Design Inspired By A Concept Starship
The Galaxy M9 draws its design from the Galaxy Starship concept first revealed at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. Many of the concept’s features have been carried over, including a striking ‘Brilliant Galaxy’ LED light bar that connects the front headlamps. A LiDAR sensor is integrated on the roof for advanced driving assistance.
In terms of dimensions, the M9 measures 5,205 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,800 mm in height, with a 3,030 mm wheelbase. That makes it just 4 mm shorter than the Mercedes-Benz GLS, putting it squarely in the full-size luxury SUV category.
