The new unit will bring together all of TCS’ existing AI teams and capabilities, working in close alignment with its horizontal service units and industry business groups to scale impact and deliver measurable
value to clients.

The development comes following the TCS’ announcement to layoff at least 12000 employees globally, or 2 per cent of the workforce, in the current financial year. However, TCS CEO K. Krithivasan denied the AI as the cause behind the decision.
