Kangana Ranaut’s Queen sequel news has been gaining attention. And the latest report suggests that the much-awaited sequel has finally found its title—but it may not be what fans were expecting. The film
is unlikely to be called Queen 2. Instead, makers are reportedly leaning towards a fresh and more fitting title: Queen Forever.
Bollywood Hungama reported that Kangana Ranaut’s Queen sequel will not be known as Queen 2. “The makers had several options for the film’s title, and the one that really caught their eye is ‘Queen Forever.’ If all goes well, this will be what the film will be called. The makers feel Queen Forever is the apt title and that it suits the film’s subject,” the portal mentioned.
Kangana Ranaut set to start shooting for Queen 2
According to Mid-Day, the sequel will not directly continue the 2014 hit’s storyline, but is expected to build on its core themes of self-discovery and independence. Kangana’s character will be seen as a city girl in Queen 2. A source told the portal, “In Queen 2, Kangana’s Rani will be a city girl unlike the small-town girl in the original. She will be smart, strong, and quirky, but a plot point will send her on the road of self-discovery. It will show how she conquers life through her individuality, self-realisation, and courage. While the first one saw her travelling to Paris and Amsterdam alone, this journey will take her across cities in India.”
The report also suggests that no actors from the original cast are expected to return apart from Kangana Ranaut. Director Vikas Bahl has reportedly chosen a fresh lineup, with several theatre artists being considered for key supporting roles in the second instalment. The source further added, “The unit will kick off the project in a Mumbai studio, where a set reflecting a North Indian city and another depicting the protagonist’s home will be built. After the Mumbai leg, they will move to other metro cities. The film will be completed in a start-to-finish schedule of three months.”
