Who Is Alka Bhatia?
Akshay Kumar shares a close bond with his sister, Alka Bhatia. She is married to real estate tycoon Surendra Hiranandani. Alka has a daughter named Simar Bhatia from her first marriage to Vaibhav Kapoor. While she stays away from the limelight, she works as a producer, and backed her first film Fugly in 2013. She later produced films like Holiday, Rustom, Airlift, Kesari, and Raksha Bandhan.
During the promotion of the 2022 film Raksha Bandhan, Akshay Kumar opened up about his bond with his sibling Alka. “My bond with my sister has been that of love. My sister is not at all scared of me and she’s a very cool-natured person who does not fight at all. There has never been any quarrel among us, even if my temper rises sometimes, she still remains calm. Since childhood, my parents have taught me that my sister is not just my sister but a Devi (deity). So, for me, she is a Devi,” he said.
