For many Indians, moving abroad to countries like the US, Canada, or the UK remains a cherished dream. However, the long waits, complex paperwork, and strict visa regulations often turn that dream into
a difficult struggle. In such times, some people turn to faith. Across India, there are temples popularly known as “visa temples,” where devotees pray for their applications to be approved.
Over the years, these temples have become popular among people who wish to study, work or settle overseas. Devotees use different ways, like writing their country’s name or bringing passports as part of their prayers.
Shree Siddhi Peeth Chamatkari Hanuman Mandir, Delhi
In the heart of Delhi, the Shree Siddhi Peeth Chamatkari Hanuman Mandir is visited by countless devotees who are seeking visa approvals. Worshippers here write the name of the country they want to travel to on a slip of paper. Priests then perform special rituals and guide them on prayers to be chanted.
“We give them some prayers to chant for 41 days and write down the name of the country they want to visit. Then we ask them to pray to Lord Hanuman and recite some couplets which have very positive meanings. They have to recite the Hanuman Chalisa 11 times for 41 days. By doing this, whoever comes to Lord Hanuman, their wishes are granted,” Pandit Shashikant Mishra, priest at the temple, told Newswire.
For many families, faith plays an important role. “I have two daughters. One is already in Canada, and the other one is going for higher studies. We are hearing that they are creating a problem in issuing visas. One night, I was in distress, and I just googled about the visa mandir, and this miraculous Hanuman mandir came up. It’s been one and a half weeks I have been coming,” Manisha Chopra, a devotee, told Newswire.

Shaheed Baba Nihal Singh Gurudwara, Punjab
In the village of Talhan, Punjab, the Shaheed Baba Nihal Singh Gurudwara is widely called the “Aeroplane Gurdwara.” This is because devotees here offer toy aeroplanes as a symbolic gesture to speed up their visa process.
The Gurudwara draws students, professionals and families who aspire to migrate abroad. Its popularity grew further after the Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu starrer Dunki featured a scene at this very shrine.
